A little background on me

I have been working out consistently for 12+ years.  Over that time I have realized my passion for fitness, understanding how our miraculous bodies work, and most of all, helping others become fit and educated.
I married my best friend in 2005 and in the following 6 years we had 4 beautiful and crazy kids.  During each pregnancy I studied.  A lot.  I wanted to make sure I was exercising correctly so I would not harm my growing baby, or injure myself. I became very frustrated as I realized good, detailed, and correct information on pre/post natal exercise was hard to come by.  I would say thats where my never ending quest for knowledge of fitness began.
I am fascinated by nutrition as well and how everything we put into (and onto) our bodies has a significant impact to our health.
My greatest joy in life is being a mother... and of course it is also the most challenging role I'll ever take on.  Exercise has been a great escape for me, but more importantly, it has helped me keep my energy up and feel good as I chase around 4 rambunctious kids and clean up the trail of chaos they continually leave behind them.
I love sleeping in.  I love cilantro, avocados, and anything chocolate.  I love friday night dates with my husband.  I am kind of OCD about things being clean and organized.  I enjoy lifting weights, yoga, and soccer. I am LDS and I try to center my life around my faith.  I plan on furthering my education in the wellness industry once my youngest is in school all day.  I like motorcycles.  I despise cooking and meal planning.

What I believe about fitness!

I am passionate about overall health and I believe exercise is a very important piece to that very complex puzzle.  My number one priority when working with a client is alignment, functionality, and strength.  I think body sculpting can be fun and motivating... but what good is a six pack and a slim figure if you're posture is poor, your core is weak, and you have aches and pains.  I think exercise should be used to achieve strength and agility, so that 30 or 40 years from now our muscles and bones can still support us in physical activity.
I love learning about pre and post natal fitness.  After going through pregnancy, our bodies change so much.  It is very important that we are aware of these anatomical changes and that we re-strengthen and rehabilitate them.  Failing to do so can result in frustrating ailments such as diastasis recti (a separation of the abdominal muscles and weakening of the connective tissue there), urine incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse (when your pelvic floor muscles cannot fully support the weight of the organs located there and they put undo pressure downward), weak core muscles resulting in poor stability and back pain, etc.
I believe our fitness, health, and wellness goals should be long term... otherwise what’s the point right?!  We have to find a balance between pushing ourselves to our limits, and creating a fitness program that we're happy to do for the next 50 years.  I want to help educate you and motivate you so that you feel confident and excited about maintaining a long, healthy lifestyle.
